As part of Durham Brass Festival, we were honoured to welcome Oompah Brass to entertain both children and staff.
The thickening black clouds didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of either the band or the spectators as the sound of brass echoed around the playground.
Oompah Brass are based in London and comprises of five musicians. Benny Beavis and Vicky Rule play Trumpets. Sam Pearce plays the French Horn. Patrick Johns, the Trombone and Mark Grainger plays Tuba.
They educated the children about their different instruments and how to play them before playing a wide range of different genres from Jazz to Pop.
We all enjoyed their visit immensely.
