In this section of our website we would like to share our images of events and visits with you. We have also added information about our close links with our local community, some visit our school on a regular basis and work closely with us to help make changes.
We are very lucky to have formed excellent relationships with our local village community and the children are giving lots of opportunities to become involved in local events.
Our children visit Christ the King Church to learn about the Easter story and at Christmas to take part in the Christmas story. Father John visits school every term to lead an assembly. Our children also have the opportunity to visit Durham Mosque during Islam week.
Each year group will have a turn in visiting our library where they choose a book to borrow and return on their next visit. We actively encourage parents and children to access the wide range of activities the local library can offer.
Bowburn Community Center is a hub of activity in the village and lots of the children attend clubs there. We were honored to take part in the Remembrance service there to commemorate the anniversary of World War One and made poppies to commemorate the village’s fallen soldiers.
Our local Co-op branch also held a collection from their customers when school received the tragic news that a teacher had died suddenly. We thank the local community for their support through this difficult time.
